YVAN LAFONTAINE

TRANSPARENCIA DE LA MEMORIA

FEBRUARY 13 - MARCH 15 | 2020

Larimar Art Gallery | Oaxaca de Juárez, México

Yvan LaFontaine's art is the most real of the real that is summoned; his familiar but strange presence. The wonderful presence that is there, multiple, always new, gives us back the passion to see. The familiar, if the eye remains there, if the eye asks, wears a veil of concern, but at the same time it fascinates. The eye pays attention to the proximity of things, and yet this closeness never reveals what is real. Being and objects always remain irreducible for the control of a stopped thought. [Extract from the text by Marc Le Bot, professor of Art History, University of Paris].

Yvan LaFontaine, is a Canadian-born engraver, painter and infographic. Visual arts master, option – creation, UQUAM, Canada. Has a bachelor of Engraving from the Montreal School of Fine Arts, Canada.
