ROSALBA BUSTAMANTE
Rosalba Bustamante (Oaxaca, 1975) lived in the City of Oaxaca until she began her studies as a Surgeon Traumatologist, in the city of Guadalajara, Jalisco, continuing in the State of Mexico. Currently she does not practice Medicine. She worked for six years at the Peña El Sapo Cancionero, in the State of Mexico, playing minor percussion and performing choirs. In 2010, she began her training in Photography at the Manuel Álvarez Bravo Photographic Center, in the City of Oaxaca. From 2011 to 2013, she completed the Diploma in Professional Photography at the Active School of Photography in Echegaray. Since then she has tried to stay updated in the photographic discipline, through workshops and seminars. Her photographs have been published in the book Altares y Ofrendas del Día de los Muertos in México, published by CONACULTA, in 2010. Winner of the award to the public within the framework of the celebrations of the Centennial of the UNAM; the winning photograph was exhibited at the Tlatelolco University Cultural Center, in 2010, and published in the magazine Cuartoscuro Nº 105. Her photographs have also been published in the book Mercados y tianguis para el Día de Muertos, by CONACULTA, in 2011. Winner of the 3rd place in the Photographic Exhibition Competition of the Active School of Photography, 2013. She has exhibited individually and collectively in galleries, museums and academic and photographic centers.
