FRANCESCO RUCHER
Francesco Rucher (Como, Italy, 1977) is an Italian artist based in Oaxaca, Mexico since 2012. In the period between 1992 and 1997 he studies graphic design at the -Umberto Boccioni- art institute in Como and parallel he frequents the first street art movements in the city. By following his interests for some master painters, Rucher moves to Rome in 1999, realizing the first solo exhibition in 2010. In 2012 the collective exhibition, which is dedicated to Jose Guadalupe Posada, is an opportunity to show on San Agustin Arts Center, his first work in Mexico. In June 2015 with the title of “Outsider” he presents his first personal exhibition in Oaxaca formed by 15 paintings exposed at the Casa de la Cultura. In the works of Rucher, the figurative representations of a surrealist vocation, are related in an unpublished and progressive way with a geometric abstractism and with a material conception of spaces. The assemblages between symbolic geometry and enigmatic figures are revealed through an intermittent trajectory of graphic and chromatic construction and decomposition. The suggestive premise of this original pictorial investigation are hermetic and visionary atmospheres; the author push us to testify a demiurge act at a time that has not yet taken place. An involuntary confession to preserve the impossible where the spectator can abandon himself in the flow of its associations.
